The Office of the Provost, in cooperation with The University Research Committee, annually recognizes the outstanding contributions to scientific research by Emory faculty.

Levy awards are presented along with other distinguished awards during the Founder’s week celebration in February.  One junior faculty member receives $1000 in research funds and $2000 in research funds is awarded one senior faculty member (defined as associate rank or above).  The 2019 Levy award recipients will be determined by the 2018 Levy award recipients and the URC co-chairs.

Nomination Dates

  • Open - September 28, 2018
  • Close - December 3, 2018

Who is eligible?

Faculty peers and/or self-nominations

Qualifying areas of research for nomination:

  • biological sciences
  • chemical sciences
  • mathematics
  • physical sciences
  • social sciences

Nomination document must include the following (combine documents into one pdf per nominee):

  • One or more recently peer reviewed paper(s) published within the last two calendar years;
  • Three letters of nomination;
  • A description of the nominee (two sentence maximum);
  • brief description of the impact the nominee's publications had in their specific field of study (two paragraph maximum).
