Instructions for Completing the URC Online Application

The URC accepts proposals through Emory's InfoReady grant application system only.

Research Documents and Application FORMS

NOTE: Proposals should include the following sections: 

  1. Online Application Form. Information entered directly into Emory's InfoReady portal.
  2. Abstract (250-word limit). Brief Lay Person’s Abstract accessible to a lay public.
  3. Resubmission cover statement.(1-page limit) If resubmitting an unawarded proposal from a prior year, include a detailed justification addressing all modifications. Be sure to indicate this page as a Resubmission Justification (this page is a requirement for resubmissions, only.)
  4. Research Plan.(6-page limit) Detailed instructions and guidelines can be found in the Request for Proposals (RFP).
  5. References. Bibliography of works cited in this URC proposal. 
  6. Budget Request. Applicants must use the provided Excel template and provide a separate itemized budget justification.
  7. Current and Pending Support. Applicants must provide abstracts of their currently funded grants. Interdisciplinary proposals with co-applicants should include abstracts for all designated PIs. Clearly indicate any scientific or academic overlap with the URC proposal. 
  8. Biosketch. Each applicant must provide a biosketch. A standard 5-page NIH Biosketch is acceptable; however, a two-page maximum applies for all other formats. Interdisciplinary proposals with co-applicants should include biosketches for all designated PIs.  
  9. URC Application Certification.  All applicants and co-applicants must acknowledge (1) all terms and conditions of the URC award as set forth in the Policies and Guidelines of the URC; (2) that their respective Department Head / Chair has been information of intent to submit to the URC program; and (3) that Department Head / Chair contact information is provided in the application, as required. 
  10. For those applications requesting course release financial support, a formal school-generated document designating approval for course release must be included. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain formal approval for course release from your Dean, and, as appropriate, through your unit head (e.g., Department Chair). 
  11. If applicable, include a letter of invitation/commitment from partnering institutions such as universities, research centers, archives, libraries, laboratories and/or government agencies. 

When the portal opens, please select the proper category for which you wish to submit your application.  Links to each application portal is listed on the Emory's InfoReady grant application proposal homepage. The URC application form will open and you may begin inserting the required information.
